fashion week
A round up in brief of the first fabulous week of fashion month.
ON RUNWAY

True to London’s eclectic style, so many runways were all about the clash. At Preen a mélange of animal prints and florals decorate tailoring, Michael van der Ham justaposes texture with prints fabrics and Erdem mixed lace with snake print.

Utility tailoring at Todd Lynn and Richard Nicoll presented itself in clean lines; strong athletic shapes and pocket detailing while bright sparks Roksanda Ilincic and Matthew Williamson played with color combinations to kaleidoscopic effect.
FRONT ROW FACES

London’s reputation as the cool city was true to form with hipsters like Alexa Chung, Daisy Lowe, Delilah and Jessie Ware all taking pride of place front row.

Hyper cool girls Kate Lanphear and Alison Mosshart were also spotted outside Somerset House together. Poppy Delevigne came out to play and to support baby sister Cara who is taking the international runways by storm.

Leigh Lezark, Dita von Teese and Olivia Palermo also made the transatlantic trip to support team GB!
BACKSTAGE BEAUTY

Val Garland makeup artist told us statement eyeliner isn’t going anywhere for spring and she wasn’t wrong.

Bright blue was the number one makeup trend closely followed by smudgy kohl under the bottom lash line.

The hair do du jour was braided spotted everywhere on the street as well as at Matthew Williamson and Antonio Berardi.
SHOW TUNES
The music on the London runways was so good, we spent more time on Shazam that Twitter and that’s saying something. In particular – the soundtrack at Matthew Williamson provided by London DJ Seb Chew was amazing.
