At the party Elizabeth Saltzman hosted for me. It was decorated to look like Nepal, my home country. There were mountains and everything. I couldn’t help but laugh. It was perfect.

Favorite smell?

Fall, trees and mud – after the rain. It’s that smell of that earth. And the smell of a good heart.

Favorite quote?

“Grace under pressure.”

Prabal’s rules of modern evening dressing:

1) Choose a cocktail dress that makes a statement. Choose a bold print in a classic silhouette.

2) Wear a dress over pants. I love that idea, we did it on the fall runway – it’s a cool, modern individualist approach.

3) Opt for a dropwaist silhouette. It’s playful and fresh for evening.
